So who is the basic mama?

I am so glad you're here! My name is Kayla, I'm a mom of 3 and a full time nurse from North Carolina. I am married to a wonderful man and we have been together over 10 years. I have 2 beautiful daughters, Alyssa (13) and Ansley (4) and I have one son, Beckett (1). Since last December we have also been foster parents to a beautiful one-year-old baby girl as well. While being a mom is without a doubt my favorite thing in life, I work in dialysis as an RN full time, I love to cook, reading is my favorite hobby, and traveling is my favorite thing to do. I hope to travel the world one day, although I have a long ways to go. My family attends one of our local churches and we do our best to raise our children to love Jesus. Recently I have found a strong interest in functional medicine and whole body wellness. I have integrated this knowledge into my parenting as well as into the my job in modern medicine.

So why have I decided to start a blog? I enjoy sharing my experiences and ideas with others. I mentioned early that traveling is one of my passions and I hope to utilize this blog to help me share those experiences and to help earn new ones. I have always been an open book and have enjoyed journaling so I thought why not? I plan to share parenting stories, lifestyle posts, travel experiences, recipes, and book recommendations.
